Every day is a surprise. When I fired up my laptop this morning, the first thing I saw was a giant Tumbling Blocks quilt, of a sort. The article on Yahoo News called them “snow crop circles.” A man named Simon Beck tromps around in snowshoes to create these massive designs. And they are quilt patterns! There’s a Giant Dahlia and a Princess Feather of sorts, and more. The link is below so you can see for yourself. And just when I thought I couldn’t stand the sight of one more snowflake. I am trying to find a large 3D tumbling block pattern for a queen bed, but I am not having any luck. The one that I want is at patterni.net, page 350.It was posted on June 14, 2011. If you know where I may get this pattern please let me know.
Thank you
Joni
I was recently at a paper piecing class where someone had the cutest pattern.it was a tennis shoe about 5×7. She said it was from American quilter. I have checked out many websites and have not found it. I’m wondering if someone can help me locate it, thank you.
Tammy, I asked about the tennis shoe pattern and did not have any luck locating it. I don’t think it was in American Quilter magazine. We do have a class at our upcoming Paducah QuiltWeek™ event with Annemart Berendse where she is teaching how to decorate shoes with quilting designs. If you would like to see her book, click here: http://www.americanquilter.com/books_supplies/item_detail.php?id=8766. If you would like more information about her classes in Paducah, click here: http://aqsshows.com/AQSPaducah/category/teachers/annemart-berendse/. I realize this is not paper-piecing, but I couldn’t think of anything else AQS is offering regarding shoes. If you come up with more information such as the pattern designer’s name, we may be able to help you more. Sylvia Thomas, AQS Administrator, sylvia@aqsquilt.com
