Stockholm Star: Step 14: Rinsing, blocking, and binding

Once the quilting is finished, Irene puts the quilt in the washing machine–in cold water, with about a tablespoon of Clorox 2 and a color-absorbing sheet. She sets the machine for the very end of the delicate wash cycle, so it’s mostly rinse. This will wash out all the starch and any markings. (She admits to holding her breath during this procedure).
Then it’s back to the design wall for a final blocking (Irene also admits to being obsessive about wanting the quilt to hang flat) and binding. Hurray!
Have you been making your own version of Starburst/Stockholm Star? We’d love to see pictures! Jan Magee, The Quilt Life

Into the machine it goes.
