See What’s New at the AQS Quilt Show in Des Moines

Can we ever see too many quilts? At the AQS Quilt Show at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, October 3-6, 2012, we will exhibit more than 1,000 QUILTS!

In addition, we are very excited to use the newly-renovated classroom space – imagine classrooms large enough for the teacher to walk through the classroom to help any student! We will have rooms that large this year in Des Moines.

During the show last year we were given a hard-hat tour through the renovation. In this photo, Terry Guill, Billy Schroeder, Lynn Loyd, Rick Loyd, Meredith Schroeder, Troy Holshouser, and I (taking photo) donned hard hats and vests to get a preview of the space.

Recently, Terry Guill and I made a planning visit to the Iowa Events Center and this is what we saw – beautiful new classrooms and ballrooms.

Enjoyed the spacious and beautiful layout at Grand Rapids. For being there for the first time, I can honestly say AQS did GREAT!!! Just one suggestion: Please consider putting information about Guild Challenges at both ends of the display. It is hard to walk the same direction. The layout calls for a meandering pattern.

    >Lorna, thanks for the suggestion about the signage for the Ultimate Guild Challenge category. I had received that same suggestion at the show. We’ll do that next year, making it easier to see what each challenge was. Glad you enjoyed the show.
