Patriotic Quilts at AQS Quilt Show – Des Moines

Patriotic Quilt, made by a member of the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild

Special Quilt Exhibit at the AQS Quilt Show in Des Moines

A Gallery of Patriotic Quilts will be featured at the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild annual quilt show during the AQS Quilt Show at the Iowa Events Center, September 28 – October 1.  Over 150 patriotic themed quilts have been made by guild members in support of the guild’s commitment to community service and in celebration of the quilt show theme of “A Community of Quilts and Quilters.”  These patriotic quilts will be presented to veterans in the VA Central Iowa Health System, long-term care facility in Des Moines on Veteran’s Day to honor the veterans for their service. In addition to the Gallery of Patriotic Quilts, over 300 other quilts made by guild members will be on display at the quilt show.

In additional to these patriotic quilts, WW II quilts from the collection of Sue Reich will be on display. If you remember the Victory Quilts, WW II fund raising quilts, and like red/white/blue quilts, you’ll enjoy seeing these quilts from that era.
