“My BERNINA 635 came with a vinyl decal ‘skin’ featuring circles. 
The skin is a fun way to individualize your machine and protect it from dirt and scratches. There were instructions with the skin mentioning that I could design and order my own skin. I didn’t think too much about it at the time, but later I decided it would be very nice to have a photo of a quilt I’d made displayed on my machine.
Here’s how I got my new skin. I went to berninausa.com/designskins and followed the instructions: Click on Start > SkinDesign > Product > Specials > Bernina. Design skins are available for the BERNINA artista 635, B215, activa 210, activa220, activa 230, activa 230PE, and activa 240.
I clicked on Bernina 635 and then clicked on Picture, where I could upload a photo or select one from their gallery. I uploaded a photo of my quilt from my computer. On the screen there was an outline of the front of my machine, and I was able to move the photo around until I had positioned it the way I wanted. After clicking on Done, I placed the order. The DesignSkin cost $29.90 and the website says proceeds will be donated to support breast cancer research.
The individually printed design foil decal was shipped to me from Germany, and I received it in about three weeks. The old decal peeled off easily and it was also easy to apply the new one.
I am extremely pleased with the look of my machine! It’s also very easy to identify when I take it to a class!”

The skins for the 635 also fit the 630 (and, I think, the 640). I have a 630 and decided to personalize it with a photo of my five grandchildren. Oops. No matter how I arranged them, someone ended up with a big blue knob instead of a nose.
I went to Plan B and did a photo of my adorable cocker spaniel. It was so easy to apply, and I love it! I posted a photo on my blog at . If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t replace the faceplate! LOL!
