Each year AQS publishes a stunning spiral-bound engagement calendar featuring 54 quilts in styles from traditional to modern. Many of the quilts are prize winners and most have not been published elsewhere. There is plenty of space in the page opposite each quilt photo for recording each week’s events. The AQS Quilt Art 2012 Engagement Calendar by Klaudeen Hansen is available at www.AmericanQuilter.com, and AQS members receive a discount.
Beth Schillig, a quilter from Columbus, Ohio, wanted to combine the art of the calendar with her passion for quilting so she designed a gorgeous quilted cover to fit the annual engagement calendar. Beth used Cherrywood cotton fabrics enhanced with Shiva Artist’s Painstiks and machine quilting, but this cover would also be stunning in Ultrasuede. You can use choose your favorite fabrics and techniques to make this gift unique. Just present your handmade cover along with the calendar and you’ll earn a year’s worth of compliments and gratitude!
Complete instructions for making this calendar cover will be published in the November 2011 issue of American Quilter magazine, arriving in AQS members’ mailboxes by mid to late September. If you are not yet an AQS member, there is still time to get this issue – just be sure your new membership is processed no later than August 31, 2011. If you enroll as a member after that date, your first delivered magazine will be the January 2012 issue.

Thanks.
